Dr. Monterrey graduated from Agrarian University of Havana in 2005. After graduating, he remained at the University as a professor for 3 years. His experience includes both small and large animals but his true passion is working with small animals. He enjoys surgery and dental procedures and creating long lasting relationships with pet parents. He shares two boys with his wife Dr. Gonzalez. You can find them at the baseball field on the weekend or maybe taekwondo during the week.
Dr. Amy Adler graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. She has broad veterinary experience, including several years of mixed practice and small animal relief work, as well as decades of teaching in the Veterinary Technology program at Madaille College. Dr. Adler also raised guide dogs while living in New York. She has worked at New Life Veterinary Hospital (formerly Polk County Animal Hospital) since 2014 since she moved to Florida. Her favorite things to do when she isn't practicing medicine is hanging out at the beach with her family and hiking with her dogs.
Dr. Gonzalez graduated from Agrarian University of Havana in 2008. After graduating, she worked with small animals and production animals focusing on neonates and their wellness. She spent 5 years working as an epidemiologist with the state. Small animal medicine has always been her favorite. She is particularly interested in ophthalmology and surgery and is looking forward to bringing more advanced services to New Life Veterinary Hospital. When she is not at the practice she is with Dr. Monterrey and their two boys running from event to event.
